Which Filofax refill do you need?

It comes down to your size and to how you plan.

The size

Look at the size of your organiser. The Filofax Personal refill is the one we sell most, and it fits the classic Filofax. A Filofax A5 refill is considerably larger and gives you a lot more writing space. Pocket and Mini are there for anyone who wants to travel light. A4 you mostly see on a desk.

Not sure? Measure the height of your current refill and count the rings. It is a close fit, because the ring spacing differs per size.

The layout

Week on two pages is by far the most popular. Your whole week lies open and there is plenty of room per day. If you want to keep work and personal life apart, the version with columns is handy.

Plenty of appointments, or do you write at length? Then take day on one page. Do bear the thickness in mind: that is a good deal more paper.

Week on one page keeps things compact and leaves the facing page free for notes. And then there is the year planner, with the whole year in one view. Most people order that alongside, not instead of.

Order in good time

Filofax produces the diary refills once a year. What sells out does not come back. The common sizes are usually gone by the end of the year, so anyone still choosing in December has little left.

Colours and editions

White is the standard, but cream does almost as well with us. We also have Confetti, Garden, Minimal and Floral. There are multilingual refills too, with the days in four languages, handy if you work across the border.
