The Caran d'Ache 844 Black Code Mechanical Pencil is the pencil version of the well known 849, wearing the same matte black look from end to end. The hexagonal aluminium body has a matte black finish, and the clip and push button are done in matte black chrome. Clean, monochrome and instantly recognisable as a Caran d'Ache.
The body is light but solid, and the six sided shape keeps the pencil steady in the hand through long sessions of writing, sketching or technical drawing. A press of the button advances the 0.7 mm lead. Like every Caran d'Ache writing instrument, it is made in Geneva.
Under the push button you will find an eraser and a reservoir with spare leads, so the pencil keeps going and tops up easily with 0.7 mm leads. It comes in a metal gift box. The flat hexagonal facets and matte finish also make it ideal for engraving, an easy way to turn it into a personal gift.
