Caran d'Ache Goliath Refill

The Goliath gets its name from its ink capacity. A standard ballpoint refill runs out quickly; the Goliath writes up to 600 A4 pages or roughly 8,000 metres on a single fill. The large ink reservoir sits inside a metal barrel with a stainless steel tip and a tungsten carbide rotating ball, which keeps the ink flow consistent and the line clean over the entire life of the refill. Every Goliath is made in Caran d'Ache's own workshops in Geneva and individually tested before it leaves the factory.

The Goliath comes in six ink colours: black, blue, red, green, turquoise and violet. Black and blue are available in fine, medium and broad. Red comes in fine and medium. Green, turquoise and violet are available in medium. Tip widths run approximately 0.8mm for fine, 1mm for medium and 1.4mm for broad. Turquoise and violet are worth trying if you want to change the character of your 849 or Ecridor without changing the pen itself — both colours write sharp and intense.

The Goliath refill fits Caran d'Ache ballpoints designed for this cartridge, including the 849, Ecridor, Léman, Varius, Dunas, Hexagonal and Madison. It is a proprietary size and does not fit pens from other brands. One refill per pack. Swapping a Goliath takes about five seconds: unscrew the tip, pull out the old refill, push in the new one. That's it.
