From cash to payment cards, the payment system has developed considerably in recent years. More and more often, the payment card is brought out at the checkout instead of the old paper and coins. Not surprising, because the ease of use of a debit card is many times higher. This development also caught the attention of the Secrid brand. Payment cards actually became more important than ever, but real protection for these high-utility items did not yet exist. Until Secrid launched its first official Cardprotector in 2009. The product was so well received that it won a Red Dot Design Award in 2010. In the same year, the brand also introduced their leather Secrid wallets, with which they won the European Aluminum Award two years later. (The product was also described as the perfect credit card holder).
