The S.T. Dupont MaxiJet is the big brother of the MiniJet. Where the MiniJet is a compact pocket model, the MaxiJet sits heftier and more ergonomically in the hand, with a solid brass base and a larger gas reservoir. It stands around 6.5 centimetres tall and weighs about 65 grams, with lacquered and matte finishes in a range of colours and patterns.
What the MaxiJet is really about is the powerful, wind-resistant jet flame. The nozzle is set deep inside the body, so the flame keeps burning even in strong wind. A single press on the side button fires the piezo ignition, with no flint. That concentrated torch flame is ideal for lighting cigars evenly and correcting an uneven burn, indoors and out. A built-in adjuster sets the flame, and a window keeps an eye on the gas level.
At Penworld you will find the S.T. Dupont MaxiJet in several finishes. If you want a more compact model for on the go, take a look at the S.T. Dupont MiniJet, or the ultra-thin S.T. Dupont Slim 7. If you prefer the classic soft flame with the famous Cling, see the S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 or the full range of S.T. Dupont lighters. Note: the MaxiJet uses the black S.T. Dupont gas refill.
Frequently asked questions about the S.T. Dupont MaxiJet
Which gas refill does the S.T. Dupont MaxiJet need?
The MaxiJet uses the black S.T. Dupont gas refill, made for jet lighters. Not the yellow or red refill, which belong to soft-flame models like the Ligne 2. Fill the lighter upside down and let it rest before you light it.
What is the difference between the MaxiJet and the MiniJet?
The MaxiJet is larger and more ergonomic than the MiniJet, with a solid brass base and a bigger gas reservoir. The MiniJet is the compact pocket model to carry every day, the MaxiJet the heftier lighter with a larger wind-resistant flame, ideal for cigars.
Is the MaxiJet suitable for outdoors and wind?
Yes. The MaxiJet's jet flame is strongly wind-resistant because the nozzle sits deep in the body. So you light quickly and reliably outdoors and in the wind, ideal for cigars.
