The Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils have been a staple for professional artists and illustrators since 1908. This set holds the full palette of 120 pencils, neatly laid out in a lacquered wooden case that earns a spot on your desk. Each barrel is lacquered in the colour of its own lead, so you pick the right shade at a glance.
Polychromos pencils have an oil based 3.8 mm core that is highly pigmented and very lightfast, with a smudge proof and waterproof finish that can only be lifted with turpentine once applied. The special bonding makes the lead resistant to breakage. Whether you are doing fine graphic work, free artistic drawing or precise colouring of plans, the pencils lay down a smooth, even layer.
The 120 colours sit in a handmade wooden case, lacquered inside and out, that protects and presents the pencils well. That makes this set not just a daily studio companion but also a lasting gift for anyone serious about colour.
