The Montblanc StarWalker Extreme Metal Fountain Pen is the most exclusive version in the collection. Cap and barrel are made of metal with a glossy black PVD coating, into which the Extreme pattern is laser-engraved. That diagonal motif goes back to the 1920s, when testing a Montblanc nib left behind diagonal stripes. The ruthenium coated accents reinforce the smoke-grey, futuristic look. At the top of the cap sits an orange dome beneath a clear top, calling to mind a rocket just before launch.
At the heart of this fountain pen is the solid Au 585 gold nib, ruthenium coated and finished with a special engraving. Gold gives the nib a natural spring that keeps writing smooth and even. The metal body gives the pen a heavier, more solid feel in the hand, which many writers enjoy.
The fountain pen comes with a Montblanc converter, so you can fill it from a bottle of ink. Montblanc ink cartridges can be used as well.
