The Caran d'Ache 849 Horizon Set brings together an 849 ballpoint pen and a mechanical pencil in a soft pastel gradient, running from light yellow to gentle pink. It calls to mind the light of a sunrise or a quiet sunset, the golden hour. A special edition for anyone who likes design and stationery.
Both instruments have the signature hexagonal aluminium body: light in the hand but sturdy, and Swiss Made. The ballpoint pen comes fitted with the Goliath refill, good for around 600 A4 pages. The mechanical pencil writes with 0.5mm HB leads and has an eraser plus spare leads under the push button, handy for drawing and precise sketching.
Both are refillable, so they last for years. They come together in a cardboard gift box, which makes the set a nice present.
