The hexagonal body carries a platinum finish and a Shadow Stripes guilloché pattern, milled with the precision techniques used in Swiss watchmaking. "Write it down" and Paul Smith's signature were originally written by hand by the designer and then transferred into the body of the pen using the guilloché engraving process. These are not surface prints. They sit in the material itself, which is the point. The Caran d'Ache logo is laser-engraved on the push button, and the clip and button are polished platinum throughout.
