Diplomat Aero Pure Black Special Edition Fountain Pen

The Diplomat Aero Pure Black Special Edition Fountain Pen takes the instantly recognisable teardrop shape of the Aero and finishes it in a deep, all over matt black. Its smooth body nods to the zeppelins and airships of the 1930s, and in this darker guise the clean shape looks calmer than ever. The clip and grip are done in matt black, so the pen reads as one continuous piece with no shiny highlights to break it up.

What really sets this edition apart is the black PVD nib. Where the standard Aero carries a silver nib, this stainless steel nib is given a black PVD coating. Beyond keeping the look consistently blacked out, that coating hardens the surface and adds corrosion resistance. The nib writes smoothly and comes in fine and medium, so you decide how fine or generous your line should be.

Filling is handled by the standard international system, so the pen takes cartridges or a converter for bottled ink. Both a converter and cartridges are included, which means you can start writing straight away. The cap closes with a soft, secure click and posts neatly on the end while you write. Diplomat presents the Aero Pure Black in a matching matt black anodised aluminium box finished with a glossy black logo, which makes it an easy choice as a gift.
