The Lamy AL-Star Ocean Blue ballpoint pen has the familiar AL-Star shape in a deep ocean blue. The body is anodised aluminium with a metal wire clip and a see-through grip. The design won an iF Design Award.
The ballpoint uses a push mechanism: one click brings the tip out, another tucks it away. The grip is symmetrically pre-shaped and feels the same however you turn the pen. Aluminium keeps the pen light but solid.
The pen comes with a LAMY M16 refill in medium, black: a large refill that lasts a long time and writes smoothly on just about any paper. Spare refills come in fine, medium or broad and in black, blue, red or green. See the full range in the Lamy M16 refills. It arrives in Lamy gift packaging and can be laser engraved for free.
