The Swift was designed in 1990 by Wolfgang Fabian, the man behind classics like the Lamy Safari and the AL-Star. The idea was simple but stubborn: a rollerball without a cap. You click the tip out with a push button, and at that exact moment the clip pulls all the way back into the body. So it never gets in the way while you write. That one detail earned the Swift an iF Design Award and still makes it recognisable among other pens today.
At Penworld the Swift comes in four finishes. The black and the imperial blue wear a matte lacquer, the anthracite a matte grey one, and the palladium goes for a palladium coated body with polished chrome accents. All four share the same all metal body with finely punched textures on the grip, and all four are made in Germany. If you want to give one as a gift, there is also a set with a leather case in a gift box.
Every Swift writes with the Lamy M66, the capless rollerball refill built for this push mechanism. The pen ships with a broad blue M66, but you can swap it whenever you like. For spares and other colours, see the Lamy M66 refills, available in M and B widths and in blue, black, red and green.
