The Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days collection draws inspiration from Jules Verne’s famous adventure novel. The Solitaire Doué Classique Ballpoint Pen, crafted with polished dark blue precious lacquer and a metal cap, tells the final chapter of the thrilling journey of Phileas Fogg and Passepartout – from Yokohama back to London via the United States.
An intricately lasered train on the cap reflects their epic crossing of the American continent. The cone features a safety chain motif, inspired by the moment Passepartout unhooks the train from the locomotive to save the crew during a Sioux attack. The cap includes design elements such as pressure valves and rising locomotive steam. The clip is embellished with a red-lacquered heart suit, symbolizing the bond between Fogg and Princess Aouda.
The card suits also refer to Fogg’s daring wager to travel around the world in just 80 days. Embossed on the cap top is the timeline: 36 days from Yokohama to London, completing the full 80-day adventure.
