Few writing instruments wear their inspiration this openly. The Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker Limited Edition Ballpoint dresses cap and body in red precious resin with a blurred finish, where red and black drift into one another and hint at the menace of the Dracula story. Across the swirling pattern on the cap rests the signature of the Irish author who gave the vampire its lasting literary shape.
Look closer and the details keep pointing back to the novel. The ruthenium coated clip tapers to a fine point and recalls the clip of an early Montblanc fountain pen, while two small marks on the clip ring stand in for the vampire bite. The silhouette nods to the Pravaz syringe, a Victorian milestone in medicine driven by a screw mechanism, and the fittings echo the writing tools of Stoker's own era. A twist mechanism brings the refill out of the body with a smooth turn.
