Few writing instruments wear their inspiration this openly. The Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker Limited Edition Fountain Pen dresses cap and body in red and black precious resin with a blurred finish, where the two colours drift into one another and hint at the menace of the Dracula story. Across the swirling pattern on the cap rests the signature of the Irish author who gave the vampire its lasting literary shape in 1897.
Look closer and the details keep pointing back to the novel. The ruthenium coated clip tapers to a fine point and recalls the clip of an early Montblanc fountain pen, while two small marks on the clip ring stand in for the vampire bite. The silhouette nods to the Pravaz syringe, a Victorian milestone in medicine, and the fittings echo the writing tools of Stoker's own era.
At the heart of the pen sits a solid Au 750 gold nib, ruthenium coated and engraved with a detail from Stoker's family coat of arms. The piston mechanism draws ink straight into the barrel, and the pen arrives in a Montblanc prestige gift box.
