The Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days collection draws its inspiration from Jules Verne’s renowned adventure novel. The Solitaire Doué Classique Rollerball Pen, featuring a polished dark blue lacquer barrel and metal cap, recounts the final stage of Phileas Fogg and Passepartout’s journey – from Yokohama back to London via the United States.
An elegantly lasered train on the cap symbolizes their trek across the vast American continent. The cone is adorned with a safety chain pattern, referencing the pivotal moment when Passepartout detaches the train from the locomotive to save the crew during a Sioux attack. The cap design includes pressure valves and the swirling steam of the locomotive, while the clip features a red-lacquered heart suit – a nod to the bond between Fogg and Princess Aouda.
The card suits further represent Fogg’s bold wager to complete his voyage in just 80 days. Embossed on the cap top is the travel timeline: 36 days from Yokohama to London, completing the full 80-day journey.
