A thrilling new Collector Series springs into life with one of Montegrappa's most imaginative, animated designs ever. Frankenstein L.E. is the opening episode from the new Universal Monsters series of collectible writing instruments.

Frankenstein L.E. reconnects with the impactful, big-screen visuals of ‘Frankenstein’, a classic horror franchise that turned the idea of the mad scientist into cultural obsession. The homage channels the magic of the original 1931 movie with materials, workmanship and staging that emulate its iconic set and costume design. Frankenstein L.E. oozes comic book gothic, with spectacular special effects to engage the senses.

The grip section is made from brass and black resin, lightning-charged with laser engraving. Trim components are all brass, styled and aged like vintage lab equipment. The pocket-clip is a spring-loaded insulator rod terminated with a brass ball – a nod to our ruzzolino clamp and depicted as if it has smashed into the cap surface.

Further appendages operate complications engineered especially for this edition. A pair of neck electrodes activates the cap release, while a gyro gizmo encased in the blind cap provides a fascinating fidget mechanism. On the cap top, a miniature haptic handwheel operates a viewing window to reveal the head of Frankenstein’s monster.

This fountain pen edition’s mechanical repertoire is boosted by the Montegrappa Power-Push filling mechanism. Custom, 8mm nibs feature the monster’s face, realised in 18K yellow gold.
