Tombow MONO 100 H Pencil - Set of 12

The Tombow MONO 100 is the finest graphite pencil made by Japanese manufacturer Tombow, on the market since 1967. Its name points to what sets it apart: a core built from ten billion graphite particles per cubic millimetre. That density gives the pencil a deep, even, jet-black line that glides across the paper.

The high-gloss lacquered black body, with gold lettering and a white band, has barely changed since it first appeared. The hexagonal pencils sit firmly in the hand and come twelve to a black slide-top box. The fine core sharpens evenly and holds its point well.

This grade is an H: light and sharp, for fine writing and technical detail. The MONO 100 comes in seventeen grades, from 9H through to 6B: the higher the H, the harder and lighter the line; the higher the B, the softer and darker. Pencils are sold in a box of twelve identical pieces.
