The Esterbrook Estie Sakura Street is a limited collaboration between Esterbrook and illustrator Cindy Duong, known as Sakuradragon. Her world of cherry blossoms and dreamy skies carries over into a translucent body of purple acrylic, shot through with colourful glitter flakes in pink, green and blue. The resin was blended just for this pen, so no two share exactly the same pattern.
The clip is etched with Cindy's own blossom design, and the cap carries the Esterbrook and Sakuradragon logos side by side. Because the acrylic is translucent, you can see the printed converter through the body. Writing is handled by an interchangeable #6 JoWo gold-plated steel nib, available in a range of widths. The nib is threaded, so swapping it for another size is easy to do yourself.
The Estie's signature feature is its cushion cap: a spring-loaded inner cap that seals the pen airtight, keeping the ink from drying out and giving a soft, secure click when you close it. The Estie fills from international cartridges or the included gold-plated converter, and arrives in special packaging made for this edition.
