Do not be misled by the name, the Monster is not a bulky or unwieldy fountain pen.
On the contrary, this edition represents perfect balance and precision. The Monster Titanium retains the distinctive proportions of the original Vac model but now combines them with the strength and refinement of Grade 5 titanium. The machined and polished finish highlights the raw metallic character of the material, giving the pen a clean, modern appearance. Every detail, from its contours to its weight distribution, is the result of meticulous design and engineering refinement.
The Ultem barrel not only adds a striking visual contrast to the titanium body but also reveals a glimpse of the innovative Kraken filling system. This revolutionary mechanism, designed by Ben Walsh, is inspired by mechanical heart valves and represents a completely new approach to ink filling. While studying sealing systems for retractable pens, Ben discovered an elegantly simple yet highly effective principle used in medical devices. This idea evolved into the Kraken system, which functions more like a heart valve than a traditional vacuum filling mechanism.
What makes the Kraken filling system so special:
- an efficient design with an impressive 7 ml ink capacity when fully filled
- a specially engineered quad ring that promotes lubrication between contact points for smoother operation and superior sealing
