Designed by Ben Walsh, this system is unlike anything else in the pen industry. While researching shut-off valves for retractable pens, Ben looked to medical devices for inspiration. He discovered a beautifully simple yet highly effective sealing solution. That concept evolved into the Kraken Filling System,  a mechanism more comparable to a mechanical heart valve than a traditional vacuum filling system.
