The Gravitas Vac 2.0 Titanium Machine Finish shares the same shape and size as the Aluminium series, now made from grade 5 titanium with a polished, machined finish. The body has a double reservoir with an ink window, so you can see the ink level in both chambers.
At the heart of the pen sits the Kraken filling system, designed by Ben Walsh. While studying sealing valves for retractable pens, he found his answer in the medical world, in mechanical heart valves. The result is a seal that looks simple and works beautifully. The mechanism is a downsized version of the one in the larger Gravitas Monster. A single pump draws more than 3 ml, and two pumps bring the capacity to over 4.5 ml. Enough for long writing sessions without refilling.
The section unscrews easily for maintenance and carries the same polished, machined finish as the rest of the pen. For this model Gravitas developed its own size #6 steel nib, available in EF, F, M or B. The nib has no breather hole and a longer cut slit for a smooth ink flow. The housing and feeder are an in house design too, yet remain compatible with the standard Jowo #6. Inside sits a Delrin sleeve with ACME threads that improves the seal and makes posting the cap more secure.
