The Gravitas Vac 2.0 is the successor to the Ultemate Vac and builds on the same idea: a fountain pen with a large ink capacity and a characterful filling system. At its heart sits the Kraken filling system, designed by Ben Walsh, which draws its inspiration from mechanical heart valves. The mechanism is a downsized version of the one in the larger Gravitas Monster and gives the pen an ink capacity of over 4.5 ml. The body has a double reservoir with an ink window, so you can see the ink level in both chambers.
At Penworld you will find the Vac 2.0 in all three versions. The Aluminium Black has a cap and metal parts in black anodised aluminium and a stainless steel section with a PVD coating. The Titanium Machine Finish is made from grade 5 titanium with a polished, machined finish, while the Titanium Stone Washed Finish brings the same pen in a matte finish. All three write with a proprietary #6 steel nib in EF, F, M or B.
You fill the Vac 2.0 with bottled fountain pen ink, which suits its large capacity well. The nib, housing and feeder are an in house design by Gravitas, yet remain compatible with the standard Jowo #6, so you can easily swap nibs later. The section unscrews for maintenance and holds a Delrin sleeve with ACME threads inside, which improves the seal and makes posting the cap more secure.
