The Caran d'Ache 849 Goldbar Ballpoint Pen is a gold-coloured ballpoint pen, from the 849 collection. The hexagonal aluminium body has a satin-matte gold finish, and the push button and clip are gold plated. That shape comes from the classic Caran d'Ache pencil and has made the 849 recognisable since 1969.
The pen has a push mechanism: one click and the tip comes out. The tungsten carbide ball gives a smooth line. The pen ships with a Caran d'Ache Goliath refill in blue, medium, good for around 600 pages. Like every Caran d'Ache pen, the 849 is made in Switzerland.
The pen is delivered in a matching gold aluminium case shaped like a gold ingot. When the refill runs out, carry on with a fresh Caran d'Ache Goliath refill.
