The LAMY 2000 rollerball shares its design entirely with the fountain pen from 1966. Same Makrolon body with matte finish, same spring-loaded clip in brushed stainless steel that disappears into the silhouette, same uninterrupted lines. Gerd A. Müller's original brief was simple: form follows function, nothing more. The rollerball proves that brief still holds.
Rollerballs write with water-based liquid ink, which puts the line quality much closer to a fountain pen than a ballpoint. The stroke is darker and more fluid without any need to press. At 26 grams and 140 mm, the balance in hand is identical to the rest of the 2000 series. The LAMY 2000 has received the German Design Award, the iF Industrie Forum Design Award, the red dot Design Award and the Brand of the Century title.
The pen comes fitted with a Medium blackLAMY M 63 rollerball refill.
