The LAMY 2000 fountain pen was designed in 1966 and hasn't changed since. That's intentional. Gerd A. Müller worked from the same Bauhaus principles that shaped the best industrial design of that era: nothing decorative, everything deliberate. The body is fiberglass with a soft matte finish. The stainless steel clip sits flush under spring tension, disappearing into the silhouette rather than sitting on top of it.
The 14 carat gold nib, platinum coated, writes with a smooth and precise line. The built-in piston fills directly from an ink bottle. No converter, no cartridge, just ink in and writing out. At 26 grams the pen has enough weight to feel solid without tiring the hand over long sessions. Over the decades the LAMY 2000 has received the German Design Award, the iF Industrie Forum Design Award, the red dot Design Award and the Brand of the Century title.
The LAMY 2000 fills via its integrated piston mechanism.
- Makrolon body (fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate), matte surface
- 14 carat gold nib, platinum coated
- Integrated piston filling mechanism
- Spring-loaded clip in brushed stainless steel
- Made in Germany
