The Montegrappa Venetia Black Fountain Pen comes from Montegrappa's archive. In the late 1920s craftsmanship in the Veneto was having a revival, and many of the region's products took on bold industrial design. The Venetia brings that time back as part of the Vintage Class, made with modern tooling but with the shapes and finishes of the day. Montegrappa makes it in the same place as the original.
It is a full bodied pen with bullet nose ends, a graduated step in the barrel and a grip section that rises like a ski jump. The body is glossy black resin, with a thin band and a clip in yellow gold plated brass, used sparingly on purpose. The barrel carries the 1928 touring logo, engraved with a diamond. Montegrappa introduced it to mark the origin of its pens, and it is the earliest known use of the Montegrappa name. Every part is precision turned.
The stainless steel nib carries Montegrappa's filigree and writes with cartridges or a converter. Two cartridges and a converter are included. The pen is 147 mm long, 16.5 mm across and weighs 27 grams. Spare cartridges and ink are sold separately in our Montegrappa refills.
