The Sheaffer Balance III E892 Glossy Black Chrome Trim Fountain Pen brings back the outline of the classic Sheaffer Balance, a pen that tapers to a point at both ends. The body is glossy black resin with a chrome plated clip and rings, and Sheaffer's white dot sits on top of the cap.
It fills from a bottle through an integrated piston that holds 2 ml of ink. Sheaffer says that is the largest capacity it has ever put in a fountain pen, so it will be a while before you need the bottle again. The ink window shows how much is left. The large #6 steel nib is two-tone, with a heart-shaped breather hole and the year 1913 stamped into it. You can have it in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium or Broad.
You can look after this pen at home: the nib unit comes out for rinsing, and a spanner for the piston is in the box. You will find bottled ink under Sheaffer ink. The pen comes in a gift box with a leather pouch and a cleaning cloth.
