The Pilot Iroshizuku To-Ro is a warm orange fountain pen ink. To-Ro refers in Japanese to the warm glow of a lantern in an alley after the rain. It belongs to the Iroshizuku line, which Pilot launched in 2007 and which draws its colours from nature in Japan.
On paper To-Ro is a soft orange-yellow with pleasant shading. It writes smoothly and lays down a steady amount of ink.
Each 50 ml bottle is blown by mouth, so no two bottles are quite the same. The angled, notched base helps your pen reach the last drop. Iroshizuku has 24 colours, each with its own Japanese name, and the bottle looks good on any desk.
