Sailor King of Pens Color Urushi Kaga Teal Blue RT Fountain Pen

The Sailor King of Pens Color Urushi Kaga Teal Blue RT Fountain Pen is a limited edition that Sailor makes exclusively for Europe. The deep teal urushi lacquer has a calm presence and is refined by the cool rhodium finish. After the twelve KOP Urushi colours with gold trim from 2021, Sailor now brings three new King of Pens with rhodium detailing, and Teal Blue is one of them.

The body is turned from ebonite and then lacquered by hand with eight to twelve coats of genuine urushi. Each coat has to dry and harden before the next goes on, a process that can take up to two months. The result is a deep, glossy finish that varies subtly from pen to pen and follows the Kaga urushi tradition.

The King of Pens writes with the oversized 21K gold King Size nib, here finished in rhodium plating and offered in medium. With a 20 mm diameter, a length of 153.5 mm and a weight of 33.8 grams, the pen sits generously and in balance in the hand. It fills through the Sailor cartridge or converter system, and matching cartridges are on the Sailor inktpatronen page.
