The Montegrappa Wild Arctic Limited Edition Fountain Pen comes from Montegrappa's third collaboration with Project WILD, the work of Helle and Uri Løvevild Golman, National Geographic Explorers, photographers and founders of the WILD Nature Foundation, who work to protect the most remote wild places on earth. After Africa the series heads for the Arctic, a region whose declining health is a warning for the whole planet. There are 999 fountain pens worldwide, each made by hand.
The body is two tone Montegrappite, Montegrappa's own resin that reuses production offcuts so that as little material as possible goes to waste. Its shades of blue reflect the Arctic seasons. The clip is custom designed and cast in stainless steel, the signature of every Project WILD edition, and it carries a wing feather of the snowy owl, a symbol of nature and of the couple's commitment to protecting it. The cap top is engraved with the Project WILD expedition patch and its motto, "What you love, you will protect".
The nib is 18 carat gold. It takes cartridges or a converter, with two cartridges and a converter included. Spare cartridges and ink are sold separately in our Montegrappa refills. The pen is 139 mm long, 16.7 mm across and weighs 49 grams. An exclusive set of postcards with polar wildlife photographs by Helle and Uri Golman comes with the pen.
