Caran d'Ache 849 Black Code Ballpoint Pen Special Edition

The Caran d'Ache 849 Black Code Ballpoint Pen dresses Caran d'Ache's best known ballpoint head to toe in black. The hexagonal aluminium body wears a matte black lacquer, and the clip and push button are finished in matte black chrome to match. No shine, no contrast colour, just a clean monochrome shape that still reads instantly as an 849.

The 849 has been around since 1969, and its appeal comes down to that profile: light, slim and six sided, so it settles into the hand and stays put on the desk. Writing starts with a simple click of the button. Like every Caran d'Ache pen, it is made in Geneva.

Inside sits the Goliath refill, Caran d'Ache's large capacity ballpoint cartridge that lasts for around 600 A4 pages. It swaps out in seconds and comes in six colours and three tip widths. The pen arrives fitted with a Goliath refill (blue, medium) and packed in a metal gift box. The flat hexagonal facets and matte lacquer also make it ideal for engraving, an easy way to turn it into a personal gift.
