The Blackwing Matte was the first pencil Blackwing released when the brand came back in 2011. The 602 is built for speed. The Matte is built for a dark, expressive line. It carries the softest graphite of the four core Blackwing models, which makes it the natural choice for musicians, illustrators, and anyone who wants to work with less resistance on the page.
The matte black body is exactly what it sounds like: no shine, no finish. The gold square ferrule and black eraser stand out against it cleanly. Each pencil is stamped with "SOFT" so you can tell it apart at a glance when the cup is full.
The set contains 12 pencils and comes in a gift box that doubles as a pencil cup once opened.
- Graphite: soft, comparable to 3B, ideal for drawing, sketching, and music notation
- Finish: matte black
- Gold square Blackwing ferrule with black eraser
- Set of 12, box doubles as a pencil cup
