The Blackwing Volume 11 is a tribute to basketball legend Bill Russell, one of the most decorated players the game has ever seen. The pencil comes in a green and black colorway with Russell's number 6 wrapped around the barrel. Each one carries the number 11 in foil, a nod to the eleven championships he won across thirteen seasons.
Behind the bold design sits the Blackwing quality you would expect. This model uses the soft graphite core, the same one found in the Blackwing Matte, which lays down a dark, fluid line with very little pressure. The cedar barrel sharpens cleanly and the extra length sits well in the hand whether you draw, write or sketch.
The set holds twelve pencils and belongs to Blackwing Volumes, the limited edition series released four times a year around a cultural or historical icon. Every pencil has a black ferrule with a green eraser. Once this run sells out, it will not come back.
- Graphite: soft, for a dark line when drawing, sketching and writing
- Design: green and black, number 6 around the barrel and the number 11 in foil
- Black ferrule with green eraser
- Limited edition from the Blackwing Volumes series
- Set of 12 pencils
