The Caran d'Ache Prismalo is a Swiss made watercolour pencil. Caran d'Ache launched it in 1931 as the first water-soluble colour pencil in the world. This set holds 30 colours with a hard, thin 2.95 mm lead, lacquered in the colour of the lead and marked with its colour number. The hexagonal body is first-grade FSC cedar wood and sits comfortably in the hand.
Prismalo draws dry like any colour pencil, with sharp and precise lines. Run a wet brush over it and the colour dissolves into a watercolour wash. The hard lead keeps you in control of fine detail, which is why illustrators, architects and anyone who likes to work accurately reach for it. Every pencil is made in Switzerland.
If you want more colours or a softer, more pigmented lead for larger areas, look at the Caran d'Ache Supracolor Soft. The full Prismalo range runs to 80 colours. See every set in the Caran d'Ache colour pencils category.
