Pelikan Souverän M805 Stresemann Fountain Pen

The Pelikan Souverän M805 Stresemann Fountain Pen takes its name from Gustav Stresemann, the Weimar Republic foreign minister known for his finely pinstriped suits. Pelikan turned that idea into a barrel of subtle anthracite stripes in cellulose acetate, built up into a striped sheet through a labour intensive process. The black turned parts are high grade resin, and the clip and rings are finished in palladium, which gives the pen a quiet silver look rather than gold.

The nib is 18 carat gold, fully rhodium plated so it carries the same silver sheen as the rest of the pen. The M805 is a large fountain pen in the Souverän 800 size, with a solid balance in the hand. The cap screws off and posts on the end while you write. Nib widths run from extra fine and fine through medium to broad.

It fills through Pelikan's built in piston system: dip the nib into a bottle and twist the knob at the end to draw ink into the reservoir. So you use bottled ink rather than cartridges, for example the Pelikan Edelstein ink, ordered separately. The M805 comes in a Pelikan gift box and is also available as the K805 ballpoint and the R805 roller.
