The Pilot Iroshizuku Chiku-Rin is a fresh yellow-green fountain pen ink. Chiku-Rin means bamboo forest in Japanese, after the green of a bamboo grove with the wind moving through it. It belongs to the Iroshizuku line, which Pilot launched in 2007 and which draws its colours from nature in Japan.
On paper Chiku-Rin is a light, lively green with a yellow undertone. It writes smoothly and lays down a steady amount of ink.
Each 50 ml bottle is blown by mouth, so no two bottles are quite the same. The angled, notched base helps your pen reach the last drop. Iroshizuku has 24 colours, each with its own Japanese name, and the bottle looks good on any desk.
