The Platinum Biso Mystic Purple Fountain Pen is part of BISO, the new line from Japan's Platinum. The name BISO comes from the Japanese words for beauty (美) and harmony (奏), a nod to calm, considered writing.
The body is made of pearlescent resin that shifts colour subtly depending on the angle and the light. Mystic Purple is a soft, mystic purple with a pearlescent sheen. Gold accents on the crown, ring, clip and end plug give the pen a refined finish.
Compared to the well-known Platinum #3776 Century, the Biso is lighter and a little slimmer, which sits nicely in the hand and writes smoothly. The pen weighs 18.4 grams and is 138 mm long. The nib is gold-plated stainless steel.
You fill it with cartridges or a converter (sold separately); a blue-black cartridge is included. The pen comes in a Platinum gift box.
The Mystic Purple is a limited edition of 1,500 pieces.
