Leuchtturm1917 HUMAN INTELLIGENCE – What You Write by Hand Comes from Your Own Head
An algorithm can draft your email, summarise your meeting and answer a question you are still busy formulating. Useful. Sometimes better than you would have managed yourself.
But what you write by hand comes from somewhere else. Your own experience, your mood that morning, a hunch you cannot quite explain. That is the idea behind HUMAN INTELLIGENCE, the new colour range from Leuchtturm1917, in four shades: Bubblegum, Burgundy, Moss and Dove.
Leuchtturm1917 puts it in three German words: Denken mit der Hand. Thinking with your hand.
The Four Colours
Burgundy is a deep, warm wine red. Bubblegum is exactly the pink the name promises. Moss sits closer to forest than to grass, and Dove is a quiet grey that goes with almost anything.
They never photograph well, Burgundy and Moss least of all. In real life they are darker.
Why Handwriting Sticks
Writing by hand is slower than typing. That sounds like a drawback until you notice what it does to you: a pen makes you decide what is worth writing down. Anyone who has ever typed up a whole meeting and remembered none of it knows the difference.
