The Sailor Shikiori Sekirei is a warm grey fountain pen ink from the Noyama-no-Uta range. Sekirei is the wagtail, the bird that hops along the waterside and bobs its tail. The colour is a restrained grey with a warm undertone, not cool or blue. Writing with it feels a little like writing in pencil.
Sekirei is a quiet alternative to black, soft enough to take notes with all day without sitting hard on the page. The Shikiori inks come from Sailor in Japan, a maker known first for its nibs. It is water based and flows smoothly from most fountain pens.
Each bottle holds 20 ml in an octagonal glass jar that sits neatly on a desk. The Shikiori collection runs to more than twenty colours.
- Warm, restrained grey.
- A soft alternative to black.
- 20 ml glass bottle.
- Water based, for fountain pens.
