The Sailor Shikiori Haru-tsuge-dori is a light green fountain pen ink from the Noyama-no-Uta range. The name means the bird that announces spring, in Japan the bush warbler you hear first when the season turns. The colour matches: a fresh light green with a yellow undertone, like new leaves in spring.
It is an airy colour that sits cheerfully on the page, good for notes and letters. The Shikiori range is made in Japan by Sailor, a name built mostly on its nibs. It is water based and flows smoothly from most fountain pens.
Each bottle holds 20 ml in an octagonal glass jar that sits neatly on a desk. The Shikiori collection runs to more than twenty colours.
