The Platinum Izumo ‘Kaga’ Maki-e "Hama no Matsu" is a masterpiece that unites traditional Japanese art with the art of writing. Created using the refined Taka Maki-e technique, multiple layers of urushi lacquer are meticulously applied and sprinkled with carefully selected gold and silver powders. This creates a vivid representation of pine trees along the shore and ocean waves, rich in depth and detail. Each stroke reflects centuries of Japanese aesthetics and the skill of master craftsmen.
Crafted from ebonite and fitted with an 18K gold nib, this fountain pen measures 154 mm in length and weighs 34.1 g, offering both elegance and perfect writing balance. The Izumo collection, named after the sacred city of Izumo in Shimane Prefecture, embodies tradition, nature, and the elevation of writing. A true collector’s piece and an exceptional writing instrument.
