The Platinum Izumo Tamenuri Akatame honors the ancient Japanese urushi lacquer tradition, whose roots trace back to the Stone Age. For centuries, urushi has represented refinement and artistry, capturing the cultural depth of Japan in each layer. The Tamenuri technique, in which natural lacquer is meticulously applied in multiple stages by skilled artisans, produces a finish that develops greater depth and brilliance over time.
The Akatame finish is distinguished by its warm red tone, which subtly shifts with the light, revealing layers of color that highlight the mastery of traditional lacquering. More than a writing instrument, this fountain pen is an heirloom, crafted to be treasured across generations. With an ebonite body, balanced construction, and an 18K gold nib (available in F, M, and B), the Platinum Izumo Tamenuri Akatame delivers not only a smooth and refined writing experience but also timeless beauty rooted in Japanese heritage.
- 18K gold nib (F, M, B)
- Ebonite body
- Urushi lacquer with Tamenuri finish
- Akatame finish (warm red tone)
- Durable and timeless Japanese craftsmanship
